Interview with the Citrus Report

I was recently interviewed by Kirsten Incorvaia for the Citrus Report.

“Everyone has had that miserable job that brought understanding to the phrase “rat in a cage.” Well, to Jesse Reno that was every job he ever had. While working as a postman in Oregon, he actually snuck in painting time during his shifts just to keep sane. He is a free spirit who finds sanctuary in creativity, whether through paint, a violin, or poetry. His untamed hair and noise projects are side notes to his total dedication to painting, as he pumps out a massive quantity of passion-wrought pieces each week.

Jesse’s paintings delve into the wide scope of human emotion, from the darkest corners of the subconscious to bright and innocent lightheartedness. There is a primitive tribal quality and also a clear tie to skateboard art. Although they are chaotic in a sense, Jesse’s paintings are meditative of the human condition and a struggle for peace. If you can’t relate to these works, you need to let loose.”
